Auscanz Migration & Education Agents is expanding, and we are seeking a motivated Lawyer to join our growing team.
This role is ideal for a recently admitted legal practitioner or junior lawyer who is looking to build practical experience in migration law, administrative law, tribunal matters, legal submissions, and client advisory work.
You will be supported with comprehensive training, mentoring, and matter guidance, making this an excellent opportunity to develop your legal skills in a specialised and growing area of law.
About the Role
As part of our legal and migration team, you will assist with a broad range of matters involving visa applications, tribunal reviews, administrative decision-making, legal submissions, and client advice.
You will work closely with experienced professionals and receive guidance on both legal practice and practical case management.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research on migration law, administrative law, legislation, policy, and case law.
- Prepare legal submissions, correspondence, client advice, and supporting documents.
- Assist with migration applications, tribunal matters, review applications, and related legal work.
- Review client documents and identify relevant legal and evidentiary issues.
- Communicate professionally with clients, government departments, tribunals, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate client records, file notes, and case management files.
- Support the team with legal drafting, compliance, and matter preparation.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Admission as an Australian Legal Practitioner, or eligibility for immediate admission.
- A current Practising Certificate, or ability to obtain one.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- A professional, ethical, and client-focused approach.
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- A genuine willingness to learn and develop in migration and administrative law.
Highly Regarded
- Interest in migration law, administrative law, tribunal advocacy, or public law.
- Knowledge of the Australian legal system.
- Experience in legal drafting, research, or client-facing work.
- Additional language skills.

Salary
$90,000 – $105,000 per year, depending on experience.
