High School English Tutor (Years 7-10)
Cranbourne & Clyde North | In-Person Position
STEM Academic is seeking an experienced and passionate English Tutor to teach high school students from Years 7 to 10 at our Cranbourne and Clyde North centres.
This is a face-to-face teaching position. We are seeking local candidates who have completed their schooling in Australia and have a strong understanding of the Victorian Curriculum and the Australian education system.
Essential Requirements (Please Do Not Apply Unless You Meet These Criteria)
- Completed Year 12 (VCE) in Australia.
- Achieved a Study Score of 40+ in VCE English, English Language, or Literature.
- Minimum 1 year of tutoring or teaching experience in English.
- Strong understanding of the Victorian Curriculum for Years 7-10 English.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Current Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain before commencement).
- Available to work after school hours and/or Saturdays.
- Reliable transport and ability to travel to Cranbourne and/or Clyde North centres.
- Must currently reside within a reasonable commuting distance of Cranbourne or Clyde North.
Highly Desirable
- Currently studying or completed a Bachelor of Education.
- Current VIT registration or working towards registration.
- Experience teaching NAPLAN preparation.
- Experience teaching Selective School Exam preparation.
- Experience teaching VCE English.
- Previous experience teaching small groups of students.

Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and structured English lessons for Years 7-10.
- Mark student work and provide detailed feedback.
- Track student progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare students for school assessments, NAPLAN, and Selective School entrance exams.
- Maintain high academic standards in the classroom.
- Communicate professionally with centre management regarding student progress.
- Create a positive and supportive learning environment.

Job Type: Part-time / Casual
Pay: Based on qualifications, experience, and demonstrated teaching ability.
Pay: $26.95 – $40.00 per hour
