About the role:
This is a temporary part-time position within our OT department working as the Senior Occupational Therapist in the Rapid Access Intervention and Discharge Emergency Department (RAID ED) team.
This position will be responsible for a clinical caseload in ED working across a diverse range of presentations and medical diagnoses.
The purpose of this role is to prevent hospital admissions from the ED and facilitate early discharges through timely allied health multidisciplinary intervention.
This role requires a highly skilled clinician with strong independent clinical reasoning and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating effective time management, adaptability, and excellent communication skills to support safe, patient-centred care.
We are seeking strong leadership in this space and there are various other roles and responsibilities you will have as a Senior clinician in our department, such as you may be responsible to supervise Level 1/2 Occupational Therapist(s) and Allied Health Assistant(s) within the team.
This position works extended hours and across a 7-day roster including weekends.

Essential Criteria:
- Qualification: Degree or Diploma recognised by AAOT-NSW
- Registration: Current General Occupational therapy Registration under AHPRA
Selection Criteria:
1. Extensive years of clinical experience in Occupational Therapy appropriate to acute care and emergency ward setting with demonstrated ability to design, implement and evaluate intervention programs for patients presenting with chronic and complex conditions.
2. Well-developed time management skills with excellent written and verbal communication, including report writing skills and high level computer literacy.
3. Demonstrated understanding of issues associated with working with culturally and linguistically diverse client groups.
4. Ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes and lead ongoing quality improvement activities with other staff
5. Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to apply advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgement when dealing with situations of a novel, complex or critical nature
6. Demonstrated experience in staff supervision and teaching and clinical supervision and teaching of undergraduate/graduate entry level students.
7. Current NSW Drivers Licence
