Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for passionate Support Workers with relevant experience to join a dynamic environment and support staff. As a Support Worker, you will provide assertive outreach support to NDIS Participants with a range of disabilities such as anxiety, depression, or post-traumatic stress disorder. This includes intensive, flexible, responsive, client-focused support with the aim of assisting clients to successfully improve physical and mental health develop connections with the community, and achieve their goals. Support Workers will participate in a 24/7 roster. Workers will assist participants in their needs of daily living including personal care, domestic assistance, social support, transport, etc.

Skills and experience:

Experience working with participants who has Emotional Dysregulation, Cultural Sensitivity
Must be able to build rapport quickly and demonstrate empathy and understanding of issues relating to people with disabilities; and who may be at-risk and have high support needs.
Extensive experience and/or qualifications relevant to working with people with disabilities and knowledge of working in residential settings.
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
A positive approach to the rights of people with disabilities and an understanding of how the NDIS works.
Strong communication skills and a clear understanding of support responsibilities particularly regarding professional boundaries
Willingness to assist with personal care
Current Manual Handling and Medication Administration certificates

you must have at minimum:

Must hold a relevant Cert IV, Diploma, or Tertiary qualification (or its equivalent) / including demonstrated knowledge or experience in working with NDIS participants with complex needs.
Must hold a WWVP card or willingness to obtain.
Driving License (minimum P2)
Must have a current First Aid certificate and medication administration certificate / or willingness to acquire it.
Must have a manual handling certificate.
Must have qualifications related to epilepsy or sufficient experience to handle epilepsy.
Must be willing to attend periodical training and uphold registrations and qualifications.
Must have completed NDIS Worker Orientation.
Must agree and sign a confidentiality form to protect organisational and participants’ information at all times.
