The opportunity
We are seeking a Senior People Insights Advisor to help modernise and simplify CSIRO’s People data, reporting and technology landscape. In this specialist role, you will combine analytics, systems thinking and stakeholder engagement to deliver scalable workforce data solutions, improve reporting processes and enable evidence-based decision making across the organisation.
A core focus will be transforming how People data and analytics are delivered at CSIRO. You will drive automation and data quality improvements, build modern and self-service analytics capabilities, and establish sustainable ways of working that reduce manual effort and improve access to reliable workforce insights. You will also lead workforce equity reporting, including WGEA and gender pay gap analysis, and translate complex data into clear insights for senior decision makers.
Your high-level duties will include:
- Provide expert advice on people data, analytics, and HR systems to internal stakeholders
- Deliver statutory and internal reporting, including WGEA, pay equity and executive remuneration insights
- Analyse workforce data to identify trends, risks and opportunities for strategic decision-making
- Design, streamline and automate scalable reporting and data processes to improve efficiency, consistency and user experience
- Develop dashboards and data visualisations to enable self-service workforce insights
- Build strong partnerships across People, Finance and IM&T to translate data into solutions
- Contribute to uplift in team capability, documentation and knowledge sharing to support sustainable delivery and reduce key-person dependency
- Support prioritisation and delivery of workforce reporting and analytics initiatives within a transformative organisational environment

Location: Clayton VIC preferred (other locations negotiable)
Salary: AU$118k - AU$127k pa + 15.4% superannuation
Tenure: Indefinite, Full-time

As the successful candidate, you will bring:
- Experience in people analytics, HR reporting, or data engineering within a complex environment
- Strong knowledge of HRIS platforms (e.g. SAP, SuccessFactors or similar)
- Capability in analytics and visualisation tools (e.g. SQL, Python, R, Power BI or equivalent)
- Experience developing automated and scalable reporting solutions
- Strong analytical, prioritisation and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance operational delivery and continuous improvement initiatives
- Excellent communication skills, with confidence influencing senior stakeholders
- A collaborative and proactive approach, with a commitment to continuous improvement
Desirable
- Experience supporting workforce reform, organisational change, or enterprise reporting initiatives
