POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a Bookkeeping Relationship Manager to take ownership of a portfolio of bookkeeping clients and act as their primary point of contact.
This is a client-facing role responsible for managing relationships, ensuring high-quality service delivery, and coordinating work across our bookkeeping team.
The role combines client management with hands-on bookkeeping involvement, allowing the successful candidate to stay technically engaged while also developing strong client relationships.
You will work closely with our Bookkeeping Lead and internal team to ensure work is delivered accurately, efficiently, and in line with client expectations.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with clients, takes ownership of outcomes, and is looking to step into a more senior, relationship-focused position.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of bookkeeping clients
- Build, develop, and maintain strong, long-term client relationships
- Serve as the main point of contact for client enquiries, requests, and ongoing support
- Proactively engage with clients to understand their business needs and identify opportunities to enhance our service offering
- Coordinate the delivery of bookkeeping and related services between clients and the internal team
- Liaise with bookkeeping team members to ensure work is completed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with client expectations
- Monitor service delivery, timelines, and client satisfaction
- Facilitate regular client meetings, reviews, and communications
- Ensure issues are addressed promptly and effectively, maintaining a high standard of client care
- Perform bookkeeping work for allocated clients as required
- Review and assist with more complex bookkeeping matters
- Ensure compliance with GST, payroll, and reporting requirements
- Support team members with technical queries where appropriate
- Support client retention, growth, and overall account management
KEY REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications & Experience:
- Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping, Diploma of Accounting, or equivalent qualification in accounting, bookkeeping, business, or a related field
- 3–5 years’ experience in bookkeeping, client relationship management, or a similar client-facing role within an accounting or professional services environment
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles, payroll, GST, and cloud accounting platforms, particularly Xero & MYOB
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships while coordinating service delivery across internal teams
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
- Customer-focused approach with the confidence to act as a trusted advisor
Skills / Knowledge & Experience:
- Experience in client relationship, account management, or similar client-facing role
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping and financial administration principles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple client relationships and priorities effectively
- Strong organisational and coordination skills
- Commercially minded and solution-focused approach

Pay: $60,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
