Your Opportunity
As the General Hand/Bus Driver you will be providing a quality service within the region by ensuring the effective utilisation of resources within regional policy guidelines.
This position reports to the Pastoral Care Coordinator.
This is a Casual opportunity.
The position will be based primarily at Cairns Campus, however you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.
Key Responsibilities
Drive a bus to transport students between various locations in Cairns.
Assist in the provision, moving, setting up and arrangement of furniture and other items required for the effective delivery of courses, training and administration.
Assist in the movement, relocation, collection and/or delivery (as required) to locations within the region, of equipment, goods and other items necessary for its effective operation.
Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of equipment and facilities associated with tasks undertaken in the performance of daily duties.
Undertake the preparation and assembly/dismantling of materials for displays/promotions associated with region activities.
Provide assistance to regional staff in emergent situations by undertaking duties to maintain a safe and hygienic work environment.
Ensure day to day activities align with business operations.
Contribute to improvement in business processes and practices.
Opportunity to participate in afterhours lock up / on call rosters.

How you will be assessed
The ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:
Ability to plan and organise the successful completion of tasks within regular workload requirements.
Knowledge of, or the ability to quickly acquire knowledge of simple tasks involving labouring, minor maintenance, minor workplace upkeep, limited grounds care skills and of stores pick up and delivery practices.
Ability to build and sustain positive working relationships with colleagues and clients, while working under guidance with minimum supervision.
Basic understanding of occupational health and safety, quality assurance, equal employment opportunity and anti-discrimination practices and behaviour as applied in a working environment.
Displays the initiative, attitude and ability to thrive within a dynamic, challenging and changing environment.
Mandatory Qualifications/Requirements
Current "C" Class Driver's Licence
"MR" Driver's Licence or the ability to acquire and keep current.
Highly Desirable Requirements
Current High Risk (Forklift) Licence
