ABOUT THE ROLE

Position

Council is offering a great opportunity for a suitably qualified, experienced and enthusiastic individual to lead and coordinate Council’s Water and Wastewater Treatment and Mechanical Services team to ensure the efficient and high-quality delivery of essential water and wastewater services to the Ballina community.

You will play a key role in leading daily operations, coordinating maintenance programs, and ensuring the reliable performance of critical treatment infrastructure. This hands-on leadership position offers the opportunity to motivate and support a skilled team while ensuring services are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with environmental and regulatory standards.

To be successful you will bring

Proven knowledge of operations and maintenance practices for water and wastewater treatment service delivery, including wastewater treatment plants.
Proven knowledge of regulatory environment for delivery of water and wastewater treatment services.
Demonstrated experience in and ability to manage and lead teams.
Demonstrated sound knowledge of contract management and procurement.
Proven experience in budget administration and project management.
Demonstrated commitment to providing high level customer service.

The rewards

A salary range of $92,600 to $106,200 per annum (plus 12% superannuation), dependent upon experience, skills and qualifications. This is applicable to a 9 day fortnight work arrangement, and incorporates the payment of five hours of approved overtime per fortnight according to Council’s Annual Salary Agreement.
