The Opportunity
V&V Walsh is seeking a practical and hands-on Site IT Lead to provide senior IT support, local technical leadership, and infrastructure coordination across our Bunbury operations.
This role will be the key on-site IT escalation point, supporting users, systems, infrastructure, and production-related technology across a busy food processing and operational environment. The position works closely with the Group IT team, external vendors, managed service providers, and local business stakeholders to ensure reliable, secure, and effective IT services across the site.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys solving technical problems, supporting users, working with infrastructure, and keeping business-critical systems operating.
Key Responsibilities

Provide hands-on IT support across the V&V Walsh site, including users, endpoints, printers, scanners, mobile devices, meeting rooms, and local systems.
- Act as the senior on-site IT escalation point for technical issues, working with IT, vendors, and support partners to resolve issues effectively.
- Support local network infrastructure, including switches, VLANs, Wi-Fi, DHCP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, and general connectivity.
- Assist with the support of segmented network environments, including multiple VLANs and production-critical systems.
- Support virtual server environments, Microsoft 365, Azure services, Active Directory, Windows Server, and endpoint management.
- Assist with firewall, VPN, remote access, and network security troubleshooting in line with IT standards.
- Support business-critical systems across production, cold store, inventory, carton labelling, ERP, QA, maintenance, and administration.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers for escalated support, hardware replacement, software issues, infrastructure changes, and project delivery.
- Assist and work with IT projects and wider project teams that have an IT component, including infrastructure upgrades, device rollouts, network improvements, system changes, OT systems and automation and technology refreshes.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, asset records, support notes, and site-specific system information.
- Support cybersecurity, backup, patching, access management, and business continuity activities as directed by Group IT.
- Promote a practical, responsive, and service-focused IT support culture across the site.
Skills & Experience

Proven experience in an IT Support, Infrastructure, or IT Leadership role within a manufacturing, FMCG, or operational environment
- Strong hands-on experience supporting Microsoft environments including Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Azure, and endpoint management
- Solid networking knowledge including TCP/IP, VLANs, Wi-Fi, VPNs, firewalls, DHCP, and DNS
- Experience supporting virtual server environments such as VMware or Hyper-V
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues independently
- Experience supporting business-critical operational or production systems
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Organised, practical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced operational environment
