About the role

Merri-bek City Council is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Assistant Procurement Partner to support the delivery of end-to-end procurement across Council. The Assistant Procurement Partner plays an important role in supporting Councils procurement function to ensure the delivery is compliant and delivering value-for-money. Reporting to the Senior Procurement Partner this role will work closely with internal stakeholders to assist with planning, coordination and administration of procurement activities.

Each year, Merri-bek Council delivers a large, multi-million-dollar capital works program, including upgrades to Council-owned buildings, sports fields, footpaths and bike paths, road resurfacing and reconstruction, and other major constructions. The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Procurement Partner with a focus on assisting with the delivery of the capital works program.

This is an excellent opportunity for a developing procurement professional looking to build a career within Victorian local government procurement.

Skills and experience require to perform the role

Certificate IV or Diploma in Procurement, Business Administration, or relevant experience in the local government procurement space
Understanding of procurement principles and contract administration.
Strong administrative and organisational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
