Our National Tax team is one of the largest and most highly regarded practices amongst Australian law firms. Led by industry-leading partners with deep expertise across the full spectrum of tax laws, our corporate tax group advises on some of Australia's most complex and high-profile transactions. You will be joining a supportive, high-performing team that is committed to the professional development of its people, offering genuine opportunities to work on market-leading matters alongside recognised experts in the field.

Your Role

We are looking for an experienced Associate to join our highly regarded team. Working closely with the national corporate / direct tax partners and senior team, you will work on a variety of matters including tax structuring, financing, tax due diligence, contract drafting, employment taxes and general income tax advice. Many of the matters involve corporate income tax issues related to mergers and acquisitions, divestments and capital reorganisations.

More About You

We welcome applications from Associates who:

have at least 3 years' experience post-admission and technical experience in tax
have worked in a law firm, big 4 professional services firms, or government in a tax related field
have strong plain English drafting skills and the ability to explain complex issues to clients clearly and concisely
have unwavering attention to detail and technical excellence
have experience conducting income tax research and providing written and verbal income tax advice to clients
are client focused and committed to forming enduring relationships with clients and industry experts
thrive in a highly collaborative environment; and
take pride in their work and who they work for
