Icon Plastics Pty Ltd is an Australian owned and operated company located in the south eastern suburbs of Melbourne, with more than 40 years’ experience in the manufacturing industry, supplying quality products to Australian and International markets.

Currently looking for a Maintenance fitter to join our dedicated team supporting the production department operating a wide range of manufacturing machinery. Hours of the role are 7am-3pm, Monday to Friday.

You will be responsible for preventative maintenance of plant and equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations and manuals with a focus on maintaining safety and maximizing production.

You will be competent in resolving operational or technical equipment problems to minimize processing/manufacturing interruptions resulting from equipment breakdowns.

Key responsibilities

Work alongside the internal maintenance team and external contractors to deliver maintenance and project outcomes
Respond to breakdowns from root cause to successful repair ensuring quality output
Use milling machinery, lathes, cut off saw, surface grinder, welders, hand held grinders, drills
Ensure inventory and equipment are serviced, properly stored and in good condition
Repair and maintain machinery to ensure optimal performance
Be actively involved in tool box meetings

Qualifications & Skills

A relevant trade qualification
Proven experience with Pneumatic and Hydraulic machines/tools
Knowledge of plastic injection moulding, blow moulding and/or extrusion machines would be an added advantage
Welding skills (Stick, Mig, Tig)
Ideally 5+ years experience in a similiar role
A safety-first attitude, if you see something act on it
Forklift and EWP licenses (desirable)

Note: You will have full ongoing working rights in Australia to be considered for the role.
