ABOUT WATER VISTA CAFÉ

Water Vista Café is a modern waterfront dining venue located at the beautiful Berowra Waters Marina. We are known for our fresh contemporary menu, welcoming atmosphere, scenic water views, and strong focus on quality hospitality.

Our venue offers breakfast, lunch, functions, and special events, with a fast paced kitchen that values teamwork, consistency, and customer experience. With continued business growth and expansion into Manly, we are looking for a passionate Chef to join our team.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Chef to support our kitchen operations across à la carte dining, events, and functions. You will work closely with the kitchen team and floor staff to deliver high quality meals while maintaining strong food safety and operational standards.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a busy hospitality environment and wants to grow within a supportive and professional team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Preparing and cooking a range of contemporary Australian and international dishes in accordance with the restaurant’s menu and quality standards.
Assisting in the preparation and development of menu items, daily specials and plated dishes under the direction of the Head Chef.
Performing all stages of food preparation and cookery, including ingredient preparation, seasoning, cooking and presentation of meals for dine-in customers and functions.
Monitoring the quality, consistency and presentation of dishes during busy lunch, dinner and event service periods.
Ensuring meals are prepared in accordance with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.
Coordinating food preparation activities within designated kitchen sections to support efficient kitchen operations and timely service.
Assisting with stock control, stock rotation and storage of food supplies and perishable ingredients.
Minimising food wastage through proper handling, preparation and storage procedures.
Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of kitchen equipment, preparation areas and food storage facilities.
Working collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to maintain high standards of food quality and customer service.

ABOUT YOU

Minimum 1 to year of experience in a similar Chef or Cook role Qualification in Commercial Cookery or related field preferred.
Strong understanding of kitchen operations and cooking techniques.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast paced environment.
Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills.
Flexible availability, including weekends and public holidays
