We are now seeking an experienced, driven and commercially minded Area Manager to join our leadership team and support our growth and development.
About the Role
Reporting to the VIC Operations Manager, the Area Manager will be responsible for the operational performance of multiple service station and convenience retail sites, including our commission agency (CA) sites. This is a hands‑on leadership role requiring strong commercial acumen, the ability to inspire teams and a commitment to operational excellence in a fast‑paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Operational Oversight — Manage day‑to‑day performance across multiple service station and convenience retail locations.
- Site Management Excellence — Ensure staffing levels, merchandising standards and compliance with all legislative and company policies.
- Leadership Coverage — Provide Site Manager coverage during annual leave periods when required.
- Roster & Compliance Management — Audit rosters, verify attendance and ensure alignment with budgets and employment contracts.
- People & Culture Support — Investigate staff concerns and collaborate with HR on resolutions.
- Talent Development — Identify, coach and develop internal talent to support career progression.
- Financial Integrity — Maintain accuracy, security and integrity of all store transactions.
- Operational Policy Execution — Oversee back‑office administration and ensure consistent policy application.
- Profitability & Loss Prevention — Drive profitability through cost control and operational excellence.
- Issue Resolution — Respond promptly to operational queries and challenges.
- New Site Support — Assist with new site openings and refurbished site re‑launches.
- Team Leadership — Mentor Site Managers, Assistant Managers and Console Operators to deliver exceptional service, upselling and strong brand presentation.
- Safety Leadership — Ensure a safe environment for all staff and customers.

About You
To be considered for this role, you will:
- Be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Be fluent in written and spoken English
- Possess strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Bring experience from the petrol or convenience retail industry
- Demonstrate strong leadership, communication and problem‑solving skills
- Thrive in a dynamic, multi‑site operational environment
Pay: From $83,200.00 per year
