MAINTENANCE WORKER

Facilities Maintenance

Permanent Full time, up to 38 hours per week (Tuesday to Saturday roster)

Maintenance Workers Enterprise Agreement, Joinery and Building Trades, OB60 ($36.23 p/h) - OB63 ($42.27 p/h) classification dependent on qualifications, skills and experience (excludes allowances)

An opportunity has become available to join the Facilities Maintenance team at West Gippsland Healthcare Group in the role of Maintenance Worker. Reporting to the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor, you will support the delivery of maintenance activities across WGHG sites, primarily based at Warragul Hospital with the requirement to attend other sites as directed.

Working as part of a collaborative and service focused team, you will undertake planned and reactive maintenance tasks, contribute to asset management processes and ensure facilities are maintained to a safe and compliant standard. This role will suit a reliable and proactive individual with strong problem solving skills who enjoys working in a dynamic environment and takes pride in delivering high quality maintenance services.

This is a full time position of 38 hours per week, to be worked from Tuesday-Saturday, exact hours will be negotiated with the successful applicant. The hours may be offered to one applicant or split across multiple applicants.

Our preferred candidate will have:

A recognised trade certificate and or demonstrated maintenance experience
Proven experience in building maintenance
Sound computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
A current driver’s licence
Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Demonstrated reliability, adaptability and flexibility with a proactive approach to work
Understanding and respect for confidentiality requirements

The following experience/qualifications would be considered advantageous:

Experience using work order or job allocation systems via phone or tablet
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure to meet deadlines
Previous experience in a hospital, aged care or healthcare setting
Knowledge or experience in asset management processes

IMPORTANT: Some roles in the healthcare sector are required to be vaccinated annually for Influenza (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) will be required to be provided prior to commencement.
