Our client, The Trustee for Diamond Dough No 1 Trust t/a River Cruz Cafe, is seeking experienced and dedicated Cooks & Chefs to join their busy venue in Bundaberg, QLD. This is a full-time role offering a competitive salary package of AUD 70–80K per annum, plus superannuation, with the final offer negotiable for the ideal candidate.
The kitchen operates as a full-service, fine-dining environment, delivering breakfast, lunch, and dinner services alongside peak weekend and seasonal demand. The role requires cooks who can work with precision and creativity, maintain exceptional food quality under pressure, and contribute to a professional, team-driven kitchen.
These are full-time positions offering a salary range of AUD 70,000 to AUD 80,000 per annum plus superannuation, aligned with skills, experience, and operational capability.
Scope of the Work:
- The day-to-day operation of a busy kitchen, including delegating staff, stock rotation and relevant paperwork.
- Prepare and cook foods of all types, either on a regular basis or for special guests or functions.
- Determine production schedules and staff requirements necessary to ensure the timely delivery of services.
- Estimate amounts and costs of required supplies, such as food and ingredients.
- Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure conformance to established standards.
- Monitor sanitation practices to ensure that employees follow standards and regulations.
- Analyse recipes to assign prices to menu items based on food, labour, and overhead costs.
- Collaborate with other personnel to execute the menu, considering factors such as seasonal availability of ingredients and the likely number of customers.
- Good knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety (WHS) AND HACCP
- Prepare and ensure a regulated oven, utensils, and grill for the shift
- Cook the order according to food health and safety standards
- Support senior chefs by executing their direction into consistently high-quality dishes, maintaining efficiency and precision across all sections of the kitchen.
- Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to staff.
- Train junior staff to uphold the standard of the venue and maintain operational efficiency.
To be considered for this role, you should:
- Be willing to relocate if you are interstate or in other cities.
- Preferably have Certificates III & IV in Commercial Cookery
- Be available on both days at weekends and be able to work split shifts.
- Have at least 2- 3 years of work experience as a Cook or Chef.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Exceptional communication skills.
