As a key member of the Townsville Mental Health Service Group, the Nurse Practitioner within the Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs Service (ATODS) delivers advanced, person-centred nursing care to individuals, families, and groups affected by substance use. This includes comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, evidence-based interventions, and therapeutic support aimed at reducing harm across diverse populations and cultural backgrounds within the Townsville Hospital and Health Service.

Salary range: $157,579 to $164,519 p.a. (Nurse Grade 8)
4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available
Requirements:
Mandatory qualifications and proof of registration
Qualification: Master of Nursing Science (Nurse Practitioner) or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.
Highly Desirable: Possession of a relevant postgraduate qualification in Mental Health and/or Alcohol and Other Drug would be well regarded.
Highly Desirable: Credentialed status (or willingness to undertake and complete requirements) with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses and/or Drug and Alcohol Nurses of Australasia (DANA).
Highly Desirable: Eligibility for appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) under the Mental Health Act 2016.
Ongoing professional development relevant to the delivery of specialist Mental Health and AOD Services to maintain appropriate registration and/or association requirements is a requirement of all staff within the MHSG.
This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
Driver Licence: This position requires the applicant to possess an appropriate license to operate a Class C (car) motor vehicle.
