Mine Control Superintendent

Our Opportunity

Work location: Fortescue’s Iron Bridge project is located on the traditional lands of the Nyamal people.

Roster: 4D/3R ex Perth

As a Mine Control Superintendent, you will lead the daily operation of remote mine control rooms across multiple sites, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-performing mining operations. You will monitor and analyse operational performance, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and lead projects that enhance processes and align teams with industry best practices. Working closely with cross-functional stakeholders, you will oversee project delivery, resolve operational challenges, and implement strategies that improve productivity, system performance, and operational excellence.

A key aspect of the role is developing and supporting Mine Control Supervisors through coaching, performance management, and tailored training to build future leaders. Leveraging your expertise in mine control systems and data analysis, you will identify trends, prepare performance reports, and provide actionable recommendations to optimise workflows and decision-making. Your strong leadership, organisational skills, and commitment to safety will ensure consistent operational performance across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Oversight: Oversee multi-site mine control operations, driving efficiency, productivity, and best-practice performance.
Safety and Compliance: Champion safe, compliant operations through strong standards, procedures, and continuous improvement.
Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop Mine Control Supervisors and teams to build capability and future leaders.
Project Delivery: Lead improvement projects and mine planning activities to achieve operational and production targets.
Problem Solving: Resolve process and system issues while optimising workflows and site performance.
Reporting and Insights: Analyse performance data, identify trends, and provide clear recommendations to improve outcomes.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications: Degree in Mining Engineering, Business, Leadership, or a related discipline, with relevant industry certifications highly regarded.
Mining Experience: 10+ years in the mining industry, including 5+ years in a leadership role. Multi-site mine control experience is highly desirable.
Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of mining operations, safety, compliance, and autonomous mining systems, with advanced data analysis skills.
Leadership: Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams while managing multiple priorities.
Problem Solving: Skilled at identifying operational issues, driving process improvements, and optimising performance.
Communication: Excellent stakeholder engagement, reporting, and analytical skills, with the ability to turn data into actionable insights.
