What we're looking for
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Innovation, Technology & Development team.
This is a pivotal role responsible for leading the delivery of innovative software solutions for both internal and external clients. You will play a key part in advancing our client value proposition by designing and developing cutting-edge digital products within the spatial industry.
Balancing hands-on technical work with strategic leadership, you will guide development practices, shape system architecture, and support the growth of our software capability. You’ll also oversee legacy systems while helping drive future transformation initiatives, including ERP integration and AI adoption.
What you’ll be doing
Technical Leadership & Delivery
- Design, develop and maintain in-house software and web applications
- Lead solution architecture ensuring scalability, security and maintainability
- Deliver high-quality, reliable code with strong engineering practices
- Define and enforce development standards, including testing and documentation
Agile Delivery & Continuous Improvement
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives)
- Track performance metrics such as velocity and burn-down charts
- Drive continuous improvement across development processes
DevOps & Systems
- Build and manage CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments
- Maintain and provide oversight of legacy systems
- Support transition towards modern architectures and ERP solutions
Team & Stakeholder Engagement
- Mentor and support engineers to build capability and performance
- Manage and collaborate with external development partners
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders and vendors
Innovation & Technology
- Integrate AI capabilities into products and workflows
- Work across modern tech stacks including PHP, Laravel, VueJS, .NET, C#, and SQL
- Leverage tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Git-based platforms
What you bring to the table
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in software development
- Strong experience in system design, architecture, and full-stack development
- Proven ability to lead or mentor developers and manage distributed teams
- Experience working with modern frameworks and cloud-based environments
- Exposure to AI integration within software or development processes
- Experience supporting or transitioning legacy systems
- Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
