As Australia's digital economy continues to accelerate, Siemens is playing a critical role in enabling the next generation of data centre infrastructure. Through our Electrification & Automation business, we deliver innovative power distribution, automation, digitalisation and energy solutions that help hyperscale, colocation and enterprise customers build resilient, sustainable and high-performing facilities.
Siemens are looking for a high-performing Bid Leader to drive the end-to-end bid and proposal process for complex data centre opportunities across Australia's rapidly evolving market. Working in close partnership with Sales, Engineering, and Project Delivery teams, you'll develop compelling, technically robust, and commercially competitive proposals that win strategic projects and enable scalable growth — positioning Siemens as a trusted partner for mission-critical infrastructure.
This role is critical in bridging Sales and Delivery, ensuring Siemens not only wins data centre projects but sets them up for successful execution and long-term repeat business. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Leading the full bid lifecycle across data centre opportunities, from qualification through to submission and handover, managing concurrent bids against tight deadlines- Partner with Sales to shape winning strategies — including positioning, differentiators, and value propositions — while collaborating with Project Delivering to ensure bids are commercially competitive and execution-ready
- Coordinate cross-functional inputs across engineering, procurement, legal, finance, and delivery teams to produce integrated, high-quality proposals that reflect Siemens' capabilities in MV switchgear, integrated power systems, and digital solutions
- Driving clarity on scope, interfaces, risks, and assumptions to ensure a seamless transition from bid to project delivery
- Leveraging market insights and competitive intelligence to continuously improve win rates, and champion standardisation of templates, processes, and tools to scale with growing pipeline demand
You'll have proven experience in bid management, proposals, or commercial management within complex infrastructure or electrical projects, with strong exposure to data centres, utilities, or mission-critical environments. You have a solid understanding of MV/LV electrical systems and EPC delivery models, strong commercial acumen across pricing, contracts, and risk, and the ability to manage cross-functional teams in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment. A tertiary qualification in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline is preferred.
You take ownership of bids end-to-end and thrive in fast-paced, competitive environments. You think strategically — aligning proposals to long-term customer and business outcomes — while maintaining an uncompromising eye for detail in every submission. You work effectively across Sales, Delivery, and Engineering, and you understand how to tailor solutions to client priorities.
Familiarity with the Australian data centre ecosystem — spanning hyperscale providers, colocation developers, Tier 1 contractors, and mission-critical engineering consultants — will be a strong advantage in this role.
