About the Role
As a Desktop Support Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering end-user desktop support and for providing Level 2 support to the broader Global System Support team. This role involves maintaining and managing desktop hardware and software environments, ensuring quality, reliability, and consistency across the organisation.
In addition, you will:
Develop and manage a cost-effective hardware lifecycle strategy aligned to business needs
Standardize desktop platforms and collaborate with vendors on approved hardware models
Oversee procurement, asset tracking, and maintenance of accurate hardware documentation
Maintain and optimize workstation images, build standards, and deployment processes
Test, validate, and support deployment of new and upgraded software
Install, configure, and support end-user hardware, software, and peripherals
Provide Level 2 support, troubleshooting complex desktop issues, and guiding junior team members
Drive continuous improvement, documentation, and adoption of emerging technologies
About You
To be successful in this role, you must have:
Minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience in a Desktop Support, IT Support, Service Desk or similar roles
Fluency in Chinese language is highly preferred to communicate with the broader IT team based in China
Experience supporting a mobile workforce and its associated complexities
Knowledge of Microsoft Windows OS deployments and migrations, including identifying and troubleshooting application compatibility issues
Strong initiative and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis
Ability to develop, organise, and maintain standard operational procedures
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong focus on knowledge sharing, documentation, and team collaboration
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Willingness to be based in our Eagle Farm office everyday
