AGC Interior is looking for a high-potential AI Systems & Operations Graduate to join our Sydney team.
This is not a conventional IT helpdesk position, and it is not a narrow software developer role.
You will work across AI-assisted development, GitHub, automation, testing, business systems, workflow improvement and real operational environments, helping us develop and improve our internal digital platform, Dotplan, together with related automation and knowledge systems.
You will work directly with management and gradually take ownership of low-risk technical and operational improvements. The role is designed for someone early in their career who learns quickly, takes initiative and wants to become a strong technical generalist rather than specialise too narrowly from day one.
The opportunity
You will use modern AI coding tools such as Codex, Claude Code, Cursor or equivalent tools as part of a disciplined engineering workflow.
We are not looking for someone who simply copies AI-generated code.
We are looking for someone who can inspect a repository, understand the problem, plan a safe change, review the output, test it, verify the result and communicate clearly what has and has not been confirmed.
You will also work with real business workflows across sales, projects, documents, site activity, employee processes and internal operations. Some work will involve attending our Sydney office and selected commercial fit-out project sites to observe workflows, capture evidence, test mobile processes and support system rollouts. Trade work is not part of the role.
What you’ll work on
- Use AI coding agents to inspect repositories, investigate issues, plan changes, implement low-risk improvements, review diffs, run tests and prepare pull requests.
- Support the ongoing development and testing of Dotplan, Vela, automation workflows and related internal systems.
- Reproduce bugs and performance issues, collect evidence and verify expected behaviour before and after changes.
- Help map real business workflows and turn operational problems into clear technical requirements.
- Work with tools such as GitHub, AppSheet, n8n, Google Workspace, APIs and other approved systems.
- Maintain technical documentation, test evidence, runbooks, known issues and handover notes.
- Attend Sydney offices and selected project sites for workflow observation, progress photography, digital evidence capture, mobile testing and rollout support.
- Identify repetitive or inefficient work that could be automated, simplified or removed.
- Support controlled technical work while respecting approval boundaries for production, security, database and other high-risk changes.
What we’re looking for
You do not need to know every part of our technology stack on day one.
What matters more is whether you can learn quickly, investigate independently, use evidence, work safely and take ownership.
You should be able to demonstrate strong learning ability and curiosity, practical Git and GitHub knowledge, some experience using an AI coding tool or the ability to master one rapidly, basic code literacy, comfort with terminals/errors/APIs/data concepts, disciplined testing and verification, clear English communication, willingness to work across technical and operational responsibilities, practical ability to attend Sydney offices and project sites, and valid Australian work rights suitable for full-time employment.
A degree or near-completed degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, Information Systems, Data, Automation or a related field is highly relevant but not the only evidence we consider.
A GitHub profile, deployed project, portfolio, side project, automation, hackathon project or other evidence that you have actually built something will strengthen your application. Experience with Next.js, TypeScript, Python, PostgreSQL, APIs, Vercel, n8n, Google Workspace or AppSheet is useful but not required.

Location and working arrangement
This is a Sydney-based full-time position.
Initial onboarding will be primarily office-based, with regular attendance at AGC offices and selected Sydney project sites. Limited hybrid flexibility may be available once onboarding is complete and depending on operational requirements.
Project site activities relate to workflow observation, progress photography, digital evidence capture, testing and system rollout support. Relevant induction, PPE and a NSW White Card will be required before entering operational construction areas where applicable.
Salary
A$60,000–65,000 base + superannuation, depending on demonstrated capability

The assessment is designed to evaluate how you inspect, reason, use AI tools, review changes and verify results rather than how much code you can memorise or type.
