The Role
The successful candidate will join a hardworking and committed mine maintenance team, providing clear and practical analysis on the operational and cost impacts of planning decisions, identifying opportunities to improve asset performance and reliability, and ensuring maintenance planning activities align with statutory, safety, and corporate requirements.
You will be responsible for:
Strong planning and organisational capability with a results-driven, data-informed approach focused on fleet availability and reliability.
Developing detailed maintenance plans, work packages, labour forecasts, and parts requirements for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities.
Managing preventive maintenance programs based on OEM recommendations, statutory requirements, kilometres, operating hours, and condition-based maintenance principles.
Effective communication, teamwork, and time management with strict adherence to HSE standards.
Building strong working relationships with OEMs, dealerships, and external service providers, including the coordination of warranty claims, recalls, and technical campaigns.
Critical thinking with a reliability-centred maintenance mindset, prioritising work based on risk, compliance requirements, and asset criticality.
High attention to detail in work package development, technical document review, service bulletin implementation, and maintenance history analysis.
Daily coordination with Coordinators, Maintenance Supervisors, and Operations personnel to optimise fleet availability and maintenance execution.
Ongoing collaboration with Procurement, Warehouse, Operations, and HSE teams to ensure parts availability, workshop scheduling, contractor mobilisation, permits, and critical controls are effectively managed.
Coordinating maintenance activities performed by internal workshops, external repair facilities, contractors, distributors, and OEM representatives.
Monitoring fleet performance, maintenance compliance, backlog health, and key maintenance KPIs to support continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
Reporting directly to the Senior Engineer of Mining Mobile Maintenance this role would suit a detailed and process-oriented person.
You will also have:
Thorough knowledge of modern maintenance planning, scheduling, and reliability-centred maintenance principles.
Demonstrated experience planning maintenance activities for light vehicles, ancillary equipment, or mobile assets in a mining, transport, or industrial environment.
Minimum two years’ experience in maintenance planning or scheduling roles.
Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance requirements, statutory inspections, compliance obligations, OEM maintenance programs, and warranty processes.
Experience managing parts procurement, inventory requirements, service scheduling, and contractor coordination.
High proficiency with Microsoft Office
Preferably, you should have knowledge of enterprise asset management systems including SAP, Oracle, or equivalent CMMS platforms.
Ability to analyse maintenance data and identify opportunities to improve fleet performance, reliability, and maintenance efficiency.
Ability to work under pressure, prioritise competing demands, and maintain strong attention to detail in a fast-paced operational environment
Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation.
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
Desirable
Experience planning and scheduling maintenance for Toyota LandCruiser, Hilux, Prado, Light towers, emergency response vehicles, and other mining light vehicle fleets.
Experience using SAP S/4HANA and mobile maintenance management systems.
Exposure to Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM) and reliability improvement programs.
Experience in Heavy Vehicle Fleets (HVFs) CAT, Hitachi.
Basic technical knowledge of mechanics.
