The Role
SAA Architects is currently seeking an Architect or Architectural Designer to join our Sydney office. With previous experience working on rail and metro projects, your responsibilities include:

Oversee all aspects of the project, including design, technical compliance, contracts, and execution

Lead, manage, and review pre-design work, feasibility studies, site analyses, and zoning analyses

Design and design development: Collaborate closely with the Design Director and team to develop conceptual and detailed architectural designs, material specifications, and ensure alignment with client’s briefs, budgets, and timelines

Project Documentation: Drive design development, including architectural layouts, detailing, material specifications, and the preparation of contract documentation for project tenders

Team Supervision and Development: Guide, supervise, and coordinate the project team to ensure timely delivery and alignment with project objectives

Stakeholder Liaison: Lead coordination and communication with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal team members. Chair and attend necessary meetings to maintain project alignment and to resolve issues

Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure project compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.

Project Administration: Prepare fee proposals and contracts, and manage project payment

Project Coordination: Coordinate technical aspects of the project with consultants and oversee the preparation and review of construction documents and drawings. Conduct site inspections and ensure documentation aligns with project specifications
About You

4+ years of relevant experience
-
Demonstrated experience in rail and metro projects

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, or a Graduate Diploma from an accredited institution

Shows a deep understanding of local building codes, planning parameters and, standards, especially for healthcare projects
-
Exhibits strong analytical capabilities coupled with effective management skills
-
A collaborative and strategic thinker, focused on achieving optimal project outcomes

Possesses excellent verbal and written communication abilities
-
Demonstrates the ability to manage time efficiently to meet challenging deadlines and client requirements

Well versed in AutoCAD, Revit and other 2D or 3D drawings, software, also Adobe suite, and Microsoft Office
