GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Synthetic Environment Specialist supports the PLEXSYS Australia Synthetic Environment and Training Manager and Senior Specialist in delivering high-quality support to users of the PLEXSYS ecosystem. This role provides training and operational support to internal staff, external customers and other employees with relevant operational expertise.
Responsibilities include the management of help desk operations, the development and implementation of proactive customer support initiatives, and coordination with development stakeholders. The role also supports software development teams by providing operational input, assisting in software user interface design, and developing product databases and exercise scenarios.
The Synthetic Environment Specialist will utilise PLEXSYS products to support live, virtual, and constructive (LVC) exercises and events, and will train internal and external users in the operation of PLEXSYS products.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the training and development of Modelling and Simulation SMEs across geographically separated locations on behalf of the Director, PLEXSYS Australia.
- Maintain oversight and execution of customer product support, warranty and support commitments, help desk operations, and quality assurance goals.
- Deliver product demonstrations and clearly describe product use and operational capabilities.
- Train internal and external customers in the operational use of PLEXSYS products, as directed by the Synthetic Environment and Training Manager.
- Support PLEXSYS products during LVC exercises and training events.
- Support the development and maintenance of databases, scenarios, and product use cases for PLEXSYS ASCOT product lines.
- Assist in the development, maintenance, and updating of internal training products.
- Support the creation of high-level scenarios that showcase PLEXSYS products in strategic campaigns.
- Maintain a high level of knowledge and understanding of PLEXSYS products and their operational use cases.
- Support the creation, standardisation, and maintenance of training plans and materials.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- Minimum of 4 experience of operating or supporting Defence related simulation systems.
- Demonstrated experience conducting presentations and delivering training to internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
- Must be an Australian Citizen and hold, or be eligible to hold, an Australian Government security clearance.
Desirable:
- Experience developing product demonstrations using a variety of techniques and tools.
- Familiarity with computer hardware and the ability to diagnose basic technical issues.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
- Current Australian Government security clearance at NV1/Secret level or above.
