Join CommBank’s Retail Technology team and help reshape how Australians apply for home loans. You’ll work on customer-facing products that power a seamless, real-time lending experience from application through to settlement.
The Role
As part of the Apply With Ease crew, you’ll design, build and run modern, scalable applications that simplify the home loan journey. You’ll work across the full product lifecycle — from discovery and design through to delivery, deployment and ongoing optimisation.
You’ll partner closely with Product, Design and Engineering teams to solve real customer problems, contributing to customer-facing experiences that enable faster, more seamless home loan applications. This role offers the opportunity to shape high-impact products, work on end-to-end journeys, and apply modern engineering practices, including cloud and emerging AI capabilities, to improve both customer and business outcomes.
What you’ll do
- Build and scale backend and full-stack applications using modern JavaScript and cloud technologies
- Contribute to customer-facing products that support faster, simpler home loan applications
- Work closely with Product Managers, Designers and stakeholders to solve real customer problems
- Apply a strong product mindset, balancing customer value, business impact and technical excellence
- Leverage modern engineering practices, including AI-assisted development and automation
- Contribute to platform modernisation, system performance and engineering best practices
- Mentor engineers and support a collaborative team culture
What we’re looking for
- Strong JavaScript experience (TypeScript, Node, React or similar)
- Experience building scalable, cloud-native applications and APIs
- Experience working on customer-facing products
- Strong product mindset with the ability to link technical decisions to customer outcomes
- Collaborative and comfortable working across teams
- Interest or experience in AI or agentic systems is highly regarded
