About this Role
We’re seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our team and support the continued growth of our business. Reporting to the Managing Director, this role supports the company's financial management.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive finance professional with strong accounting knowledge, analytical skills, and commercial awareness.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow, and variance analysis.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, month-end/year-end close, and financial reporting.
- Monitor financial performance through KPI reporting and financial analysis, providing recommendations to support business planning and decision-making.
- Develop and maintain effective financial controls, accounting policies, and ensure compliance with taxation, statutory, and regulatory requirements, including GST, BAS, and payroll.
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
- Liaise with external accountants, auditors, financial institutions, and government authorities on financial reporting, taxation, audit, and compliance matters.
- Maintain accurate financial records and accounting documentation, and support the continuous improvement of accounting systems and financial processes.
- Provide financial and commercial support to the Managing Director through budgeting, financial reporting, business planning, and performance analysis.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3–5 years' experience in a Financial Controller, Company Accountant, or similar accounting role.
Skills & Experience
- Strong experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis.
- Sound knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, GST, BAS, payroll, taxation, and statutory compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated experience managing general ledger, bank reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, or similar ERP/accounting systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience preparing management reports, KPI reporting, and maintaining effective financial controls.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

What’s on Offer
- Competitive remuneration package of $90,000 – $95,000 per annum plus superannuation, commensurate with skills and experience.
