We have a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a Senior Mine Planning Engineer to join our high performing Underground Technical Services team at our KCGM Operations. This opportunity is offered on 4/3 roster, 12-hour days, either residentially based in Kalgoorlie-Boulder – the Heart of the Goldfields, or Fly-in Fly-out (FIFO) ex Perth.

Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, the primary role is for the safe management and delivery of all Medium-Term Planning requirements within the Mining Engineering team.
What you can look forward to:
- Design, optimise and provide cost analysis for underground mine plans.
- Design and develop long term plan for supporting infrastructure.
- Prepare and deliver rolling 36 months plan every quarter.
- Collaborate with operational department to ensure alignment in the plan
- Contribute to technical studies, trade-offs, and project evaluations to support strategic decision-making.
- Unearthing values and opportunities to the operational delivery.
- Assist Long term planning with Ore Reserve preparations in accordance with JORC code definitions and Life of Asset mine design generation.

Expertise & Accomplishments:
- Advanced skills and user of Deswik packages (CAD, IS, SO)
- Practical experience in variety of mining methods - from narrow vein to large-scale open stoping/sub level caving or similar experience.
- Strong understanding and knowledge around infrastructure design.
- Strong collaboration skills and techniques to co-ordinate mining activity across multiple mining areas through different time periods of the business needs.
- Previous experience with financial modelling/costing.
- Ability to influence, communicate risks, realistic plans and delivering compelling presentations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering
- +5 years’ experience in underground mining operations
- +2 years in UG Mine Planning and Scheduling roles
- WA First Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency (desirable)
- Unrestricted C Class drivers’ licence
