We are seeking an experienced CHPP Superintendent (Maintenance) to join our newest project at Meandu Mine near Kingaroy, Queensland. Reporting to the CHPP Manager, this role is responsible for leading the maintenance function of the coal processing plant to enable safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations.
This is a key leadership role, focused on plant reliability, maintenance strategy, shutdown execution and team performance. The successful incumbent will be a proactive and safety-focused leader with strong technical capability, a continuous improvement mindset and a proven ability to lead high performing teams in coal processing or similar heavy industry.
This is a residential role, operating on a 9 day fortnight roster.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and promote a proactive safety and compliance culture.
- Manage daily CHPP maintenance operations to achieve production, quality, and cost targets.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and development to supervisors and operational personnel.
- Work closely with maintenance teams to maximise plant availability and execute shutdown activities.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors, and service providers.
- Lead and develop a multidisciplinary maintenance team comprising supervisors, planners, tradespeople, and contractors.
- Manage maintenance execution across fixed plant assets, including crushers, screens, conveyors, pumps, thickeners, flotation circuits and centrifuges.
- Implement maintenance strategies that improve reliability, availability, and maintainability of plant assets.
- Drive preventative, predictive, and condition-based maintenance programs.
- Manage maintenance budgets, forecasts, and capital expenditure projects.
- Monitor asset performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement and cost reduction.
About You:
- Significant maintenance leadership experience within a CHPP, minerals processing plant, or heavy industrial environment.
- Proven experience managing large maintenance teams in a mining operation.
- Strong knowledge of fixed plant maintenance, reliability engineering, and asset management principles.
- Demonstrated ability to improve equipment performance and maintenance efficiency.
- Experience with maintenance management systems SAP preferred.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Trade qualification or tertiary engineering qualification (Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline).
