About the role

At Yarrabee, we’re building a high-performing, values-led culture and we’re looking for a Senior HR Advisor who thrives in a hands-on environment, supports leaders at every level and can confidently navigate complex people challenges. This is your opportunity to step in as a true 2IC to the HR Manager, playing a key role in supporting leaders and leading critical employee relations outcomes across site.

Reporting to the HR Manager, you will be a trusted advisor to leaders and a key contributor to site culture and performance. You’ll operate at both a strategic and operational level, partnering with leaders to uplift capability while also stepping into more complex and sensitive matters when required. This is an 18-month fixed term role and you’ll work on site at Yarrabee mine on a 7:00am – 4:00pm roster, with flexibility to meet the needs of the business and your own. You’ll engage directly with crews, building strong relationships and gain a deep understanding of how the operation runs.

What you’ll be doing

Partnering closely with leaders to provide practical, solutions-focused HR advice
Acting as a 2IC to the HR Manager, supporting day-to-day leadership and site priorities
Leading and managing complex employee relations and industrial relations matters, including investigations, disciplinary processes, disputes, and escalations
Coaching leaders through challenging people scenarios with confidence and clarity
Supporting the full employee lifecycle – onboarding, development, and offboarding
Driving engagement, culture, and continuous improvement initiatives
Using data and insights to inform workforce decisions and identify trends
Ensuring consistent, compliant application of policies and site processes
Coaching and developing the HR Officer, building capability and strengthening the effectiveness of the HR function on site
Driving improvements in HR systems, processes, and ways of working to enhance efficiency and consistency

What we're looking for

You’re someone who:

Has strong ER/IR experience, with the confidence to manage complex and sensitive cases end-to-end
Brings sound knowledge of employment legislation and industrial frameworks
Builds credibility quickly and can influence at all levels of the business
Is calm under pressure and comfortable dealing with ambiguity and competing priorities
Has the ability lead HR projects and support the delivery of people plan
Takes ownership, shows initiative and follows through on outcomes
Is practical, approachable and outcome-focused

Experience in mining or heavy industry will be highly regarded.
