Welcome to the oOh! Tech Team! We are a collective of talented professionals dedicated to delivering high-quality solutions at pace. Our mission is to work collaboratively as trusted partners using progressive tools and techniques to transform our technological landscape, ensuring we remain at the forefront of our industry.
We are seeking a talented, motivated, and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our engineering team. This role focuses on team-level technical leadership and active mentorship/coaching while maintaining a strong, hands-on full-stack technical contribution across our modern tech stack (Golang, Node.js, Svelte) and event-driven, serverless-first architectures. As a Senior Engineer, you will balance Building (60%), Guiding (30%), and Leading (10%) responsibilities. You will set the technical standard, mentor engineers within your team, and contribute to cross-team architectural discussions while delivering high-quality solutions to complex technical challenges.
What you’ll be doing:
-
Technical Excellence: Deliver technically excellent full-stack code across multiple features and systems with expert-level proficiency.
-
System Architecture: Support the architecture of scalable solutions considering performance, security, and long-term maintainability with pragmatic trade-offs.
-
Quality & Standards: Maintain the standard for code quality and technical practices, establish team coding standards, resolve critical production issues, and improve processes through experimentation.
-
Mentorship & Culture: Mentor engineers within your team, conduct thorough code reviews that elevate team capability, facilitate technical discussions, and actively shape team technical culture.
-
Collaboration & Leadership: Partner with Product and Design on feature delivery, advocate for technical improvements, and contribute to cross-team architectural discussions to identify risks and propose mitigation strategies. You may also wear temporary leadership hats to progress your career forward.
This is what you’ll look like:
-
Experience: 5+ years of professional software engineering experience. Out of Home media or advertising technology experience is highly desirable.
-
Backend Expertise: Expert-level proficiency in at least one modern programming language—ideally Golang, TypeScript, or Node.js.
-
Modern Architecture: Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and system design, with hands-on experience in event-driven architectures and serverless patterns (SQS, SNS, EventBridge).
-
Database & Cloud Fluency: Solid experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), modern DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, test automation, IaC, and SQL/NoSQL databases (Postgres, DynamoDB, Opensearch, DSQL).
-
Leadership Capabilities: A proven track record of mentoring and developing other engineers, with the ability to make pragmatic technical decisions balancing quality and delivery.
-
Communication Fluency: Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Our benefits and perks:
-
Competitive salary package
-
A positive, supportive workplace culture
-
Professional growth and development opportunities
-
Comprehensive training and a focus on employee well-being
