The Immunisation Coordinator is a Clinical Nurse Consultant who serves as the point of contact at the Public Health Unit for immunisation issues & is responsible for coordinating those immunisation activities that fall within the responsibilities of the Public Health Unit Director & Operations Manager.

The Coordinator manages the Immunisation Team including the Aboriginal Immunisation Officer Program, the adolescent School Vaccination program & provides clinical consultancy & leadership to improve vaccination awareness & coverage rates, & initiate & participate in relevant research.

Selection Criteria

Registered Nurse with current registration with AHPRA with a minimum of five years full time equivalent post registration experience & three of which must be in the speciality field of Immunisation and/or Public Health & has relevant post graduate qualification or experience in the speciality field.

Currently authorised Registered Nurse able to provide immunisation services in accordance with NSW Health policy directive PD2015_011.

Demonstrated skills in strategic & clinical service planning including an understanding of organisational behaviour, change management & cultural change processes.

Proven leadership & ability to provide consultancy support on numerous aspects of immunisation.

Demonstrated skill & experience in strategic & clinical service planning, delivery & evaluation.

Demonstrated effective communication & inter-personal skills & experience in facilitating & engage in formal & informal education activities.

Demonstrated experience in documentation & development of complex reports.

Proven ability to initiate appropriate strategies to improve immunisation rates in the general community & disadvantaged groups.
