Our WSP Building Structures group is a specialist team renowned for their innovation in structural engineering and cutting-edge BIM project execution across complex building structures and infrastructure projects, with offices in each major city across Australia.

We operate as a highly autonomous and genuinely national team. The ability to grow and develop your career at WSP is unparalleled in the market. Our recent projects span across a range of different sectors including but not limited to Defence, transportation, commercial and high-rise developments.

Key responsibilities

Project lead work across the design, delivery and tender phases for multi-year/packaged work for turnkey projects;
Ensure timely and quality of delivery for project and structural engineering work in support of relevant technical, commercial and regulatory standards – and in alignment with schedules and budgets;
Handle ongoing communication and highly effective professional relationships with local clients;
Manage effective stakeholder relationships, both internally and externally;
Provide sound technical/delivery guidance for the team;
Mentor, train and develop the careers of junior engineers;

Experience & Skills

Bachelor to Masters’ level degree (Civil/Structural Engineering);
RPEQ qualified or close to completion
Minimum 8-12 years industry experience in Australia on medium/large commercial building structure projects is essential.
Eligibility to obtain Australian Defence full security clearance is essential – only eligible to Australian Citizens (Permanent Resident, NZ Citizens & Visa holders are not eligible).
Exposure across a range of local building sectors, e.g., transport, health, retail, defence;
Familiar with ETABS, RAM Concept and Microstran
Solid consultancy experience in a client facing role with ability to lead projects
Track record of effective cross-discipline project delivery
Experience coaching & mentoring junior engineers across technical and project delivery aspects.
