Details: Digital Canberra is seeking motivated Network Engineers to join the Strategic Asset Management Program and help deliver network infrastructure improvements across the ACT Government.
This role provides practical network engineering support for infrastructure refresh activities involving enterprise switching, wireless networking and related technology platforms. You will assist with implementation planning, configuration validation, testing, troubleshooting and technical assurance activities that help keep government technology services secure, reliable and fit for the future.
Working alongside senior engineers, project teams, operational specialists and technology vendors, you will contribute to network modernisation projects while developing valuable experience across large and complex ICT environments. You will help ensure refreshed network infrastructure is properly validated, documented and ready for operational support.

Eligibility/Other requirements:

This position requires a national security clearance at the baseline/ negative vetting 1 (NV1) level issued by the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA). As such, the incumbent must be an Australian citizen, be willing to undergo the security clearance process, and have an ability to obtain and maintain the relevant clearance as a requirement of continuing employment.

Cisco networking certification or equivalent practical enterprise network experience is highly desirable.

Experience with enterprise switching, wireless networking, network refresh activities, technical testing or implementation validation is highly desirable.

Experience with ServiceNow, network inventory systems, implementation records, technical evidence or handover artefacts is highly desirable.

Understanding of, or certification in, IT service management frameworks such as ITIL is desirable.

A current driver's licence is highly desirable.
Notes: There are several permanent full-time positions available.
A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.
