Key Responsibilities
● Perform comprehensive mechanical repairs, routine logbook servicing, and maintenance on a wide range of light vehicles.
● Service and replace mechanical components including brake systems, suspension, steering mechanisms, and filters.
● Operate advanced diagnostic scan tools to troubleshoot and resolve engine and auto-electrical fault codes.
● Dismantle, repair, and reassemble major vehicle components such as engines, transmissions, and clutch assemblies.
● Conduct roadworthiness checks, safety inspections, and assist with statutory certifications.
● Test-drive vehicles and fine-tune mechanical parts post-repair to ensure optimal performance.
● Ensure all repairs meet quality, road safety, and workplace health and safety (WHS) regulations.
Requirements & Qualifications
● Relevant trade qualification (Certificate in Vehicle Mechanical Technology or related field).
● Practical experience working as an automotive technician/mechanic in a busy workshop.
● Proficiency with modern automotive diagnostic tools.
● Valid Australian Driver Licence (Preferred).
● Strong mechanical problem-solving skills and high attention to detail.
Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
