About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Principal or Associate level Mechanical Engineer to join our Perth Buildings team. This is a key leadership role that blends technical excellence with strategic business development, client engagement and project delivery.
As a senior member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will play a pivotal role in driving project success, expanding client relationships, and identifying new business opportunities across a diverse portfolio of building projects. Your ability to lead from the front—both technically and commercially—will be key to your success.

What you’ll be doing:
- Lead client-facing project delivery, ensuring high-quality outcomes and strong stakeholder satisfaction.
- Drive business development initiatives, identifying and pursuing new project opportunities and nurturing long-term client partnerships within the buildings industry.
- Develop technically sound and innovative HVAC Engineering, heat load calculations, equipment and reticulation sizing and selection, coordination, and documentation.
- Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Work closely and develop trusted relationships with other project stakeholders, notably architects, contractors, builders and end users to achieve efficient and cost-effective solutions with a high-quality outcome
- Bring value to in-house design/project meetings
- Contribute to the overall strategy and development of the Mechanical team and to our company culture.
- Adhere to Stantec professional standards, ethics and Stantec quality procedures
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience in a design consultancy environment, with a strong track record of client engagement and project leadership.
- Mechanical Engineering Degree qualified
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at varying stages of delivery.
- Strong technical knowledge in building services design.
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a passion for building client relationships and growing business pipelines.
- Working knowledge of Revit and other software
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- A collaborative, can-do attitude and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
