Senior Electrical Engineer / Electrical Engineer

The Role

Join our team as a Senior Electrical Engineer on a permanent full-time basis. This presents an exciting opportunity to apply your expertise and contribute to projects while collaborating with our skilled and experienced Electrical Engineering team who will provide ongoing support and guidance.

Duties include but not limited to;

Receiving the Scope of Work to develop and provide input for project scopes of works.
Perform detailed electrical load calculations, short-circuit analysis, and protection coordination studies.
Identifying, designing and performing risk based technical assurance activities.
Performing tender evaluations and clarifications.
Creation of concept designs.
Provide technical input during all project phases, from concept to commissioning, and ensure seamless integration of electrical, control & instrumentation systems with other engineering disciplines.
Work closely with the QPE Drafting Team in the development of engineering drawings.
Ensure all electrical systems comply with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Review of manufacturer's data reports and vendor documentation.
Conduct site inspections when required.
Other responsibilities as directed by the Principal Electrical Engineer.

About you

Minimum 7 years' of previous experience working within an engineering consultant environment.
Minimum Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Australian recognised Electrical Engineering degree that satisfies the entry requirements for Chartered membership with Engineers Australia
Proficient with PLC / Instrumentation and Controls / power systems software and LV control
In depth knowledge of 'in-plant' electrical distribution (MV and LV systems) and motor control systems
Experience in concept design and details design of electrical systems
Must have proven experience leading projects and mentoring small teams
A sound working knowledge of power system modelling
Applied knowledge of relevant Australian Standards
Knowledge of mining and process plants
High level of attention to detail and documentation writing
