Opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary tertiary team providing State Wide Diagnosis and Assessment for children aged 0-12 years old presenting with complex neurodevelopmental disorders including ADHD and Learning difficulties.
A hybrid model of service delivery includes Telehealth and in person assessment.

Applicants currently enrolled in a combined Masters/PhD are eligible to apply if they have completed the equivalent of Masters degree requirements as part of the PhD pathway. Evidence of this is demonstrated by a completed PDEC-76 form and cover letter from the University confirming Masters degree requirements have been met.

Applicants are eligible to apply if they have completed an accredited Masters degree and are awaiting their graduation ceremony. Written confirmation from the University is required.

Successful applicants who have completed the Masters degree or Masters degree requirements and are awaiting full registration from the Psychology Board of Australia will be paid at Year 2 of the Psychologist Scale until they have full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia, at which point they will commence on Year 1 of the Clinical Psychologist scale.

What you'll be doing

To work as part of a professional team who are providing a multl-disclplinary diagnostic and assessment service for children/adolescents with a range of complex developmental, learning disabilities and behavioural issues. The Child Development Unit is a tertiary referral centre for NSW for complex developmental and behavioural disorders. We provide multidisciplinary assessment, diagnosis and individual management planning.

Team leader for specific research projects as required.

The Clinical Psychologist/Neuropsychologist will:

Work collaboratively within the Child Development Unit as a member of amulti-disclpllnary team, which includes medical, educational, nursing and allied health professionals.
Provide assessments of complex developmental, learning and cognitive disorders
Liaise and consult with other professionals within the hospital, Department of
Education and with community agencies within NSW.
Participate in the professional activities of the Psychology Department.
Actively participate in research activities within the Child Development Unit

Completion of post graduate qualification in clinical psychology/neuropsychology or equivalent
Registration with the NSW Psychologists Registration Board and eligibility for membership of the APS College of Clinical Neuropsychologists
Prior experience and expertise in diagnosis and assessment of children and adolescents with specific learning difficulties and formulation of treatment and management plans and provision of consultative services
Clinical and assessment experience in children with autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disability and complex developmental disorders
Experience in teaching and supervision
Capacity to lead and develop research projects within the field of child development
Demonstrated ability to work flexibly and with initiative within a multidisciplinary team
Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills with respect tocase and time management and in the provision of appropriate written reports skills
