The Role
As a member company of Emergent Group Australia, Novecom is a leading provider of environmental sensors, monitoring and reporting solutions. We design, manufacture, install, service and support environmental and waste monitoring systems in industries from mining to healthcare.
The IoT Specialist (Engineering Technologist) is responsible for the implementation, integration, testing and optimisation of IoT-based monitoring systems. This role applies established engineering principles to support deployment and operation of sensor networks, embedded systems and communications platforms, consistent with ANZSCO Engineering Technologist classification.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys problem-solving, and is passionate about delivering innovative technology solutions. The key functions for this role includes technical implementation, system integration and support, product and development support, project delivery as well as client and operational support.
Requirements
Responsibilities & Key Tasks
Implement and configure IoT systems including sensors, telemetry equipment and communications hardware.
Integrate hardware and software components to deliver operational systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues across deployed IoT systems.
Support system and product commissioning, testing and validation activities.
Monitor system performance and implement improvements.
Support integration of telemetry systems, data acquisition platforms and cloud systems.
Configure communications technologies including cellular, satellite and RF.
Support ongoing operation of deployed monitoring systems.
Assist engineers in development and testing of new products including testing programs and field trials.
Work with multidisciplinary teams to support delivery of technical IoT projects and deliver outcomes.
Prepare and maintain system documentation, records and technical reports.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will have
Diploma or degree in electrical, electronics, mechatronics, telecommunications or related field.
Unrestricted driver licence (motor vehicle)
Experience in IoT, telemetry or embedded systems.
Experience in field-based technical roles.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
Reports To: Lead Systems Engineer
Location: Emergent Group Head Office - 7 Riverside Drive Mayfield West NSW 2304. Flexible work arrangements apply for this role.
