About the Opportunity:
We are looking for a Junior Project Controller to join our Energy & Resources team in Perth. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their project controls career to gain hands-on experience supporting sustaining capital and brownfield mining projects.
Working alongside Project Managers, Project Controls Leads and finance teams, you will assist with a range of project controls and cost management activities across multiple projects. You’ll play a key role in supporting project setup, tracking costs, assisting with reporting, and helping maintain accurate project data.
This position offers excellent exposure to a structured EPCM environment, with the opportunity to develop your skills while contributing to major project delivery, including involvement in the Kingking Project.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assist Project Managers and Project Controls Leads with day-to-day project controls and cost tracking activities
- Support project setup, including WBS structures, cost codes and systems
- Help maintain project cost data such as actuals, commitments and accruals
- Assist with cost tracking, forecasting and performance monitoring
- Support the preparation of monthly reports, dashboards and financial updates
- Assist with change control processes and tracking variations
- Coordinate with project accounting teams on invoicing and financial data
- Maintain accurate project documentation and records
- Provide general project coordination support, including meetings and action tracking
- Contribute to cost control activities on larger projects, including the Kingking Project
About You:
You are a motivated and detail-oriented team player looking to grow your career in project controls within a project delivery environment.
You will bring:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a project controls, cost control or project support role
- Exposure to to engineering, construction, mining, infrastructure or similar project environments
- Basic understanding of cost tracking, budgeting and forecasting processes
- Familiarity with project controls concepts such as WBS and cost coding
- Experience using project systems (e.g. Oracle, CMS or similar) is desirable
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skill
- Good communication skills and willingness to learn from experienced team members
- Ability to manage priorities and support multiple projects in a team environment
