Role Overview
Our Civil and Construction team is experiencing an exciting period of growth. With major projects underway and continued investment in new equipment, we’re expanding our capability.
This growth has created an opportunity for a Civil Plant Operator to join our team. The Civil Plant Operator will contribute to the efficient and effective delivery of civil maintenance and civil capital projects across our sites.
Key Responsibilities
Support the existing civil team in the coordination and delivery of civil maintenance and project works on site;
Operating of in-house civil equipment including excavators, front end loader, skid steer, tipper truck, water truck, dozer and backhoe;
Delivery of civil maintenance, detailed earth works, project work including pavement construction and repairs, earthworks, land preparation and general maintenance tasks;
Conduct daily pre-start inspections and basic maintenance of civil plant and equipment;
Promote safety by identifying hazards, managing contractors, and fostering a positive safety culture; and
Assist with manual labour and ground support tasks when not operating equipment.
About you
Your skills and experience will include:
Civil Construction trade qualifications or significant civil experience;
White Card and valid Driver’s Licence;
Essential licences: excavator, front end loader, HR or HC licence, skid steer (bulldozer and backhoe will be highly regarded);
Experience with civil maintenance activities and civil land development;
Punctual, reliable, proactive problem solver with strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team; and
Strong understanding of WHS practices, JSEAs, hazard identification, and incident reporting is essential.
