About the Opportunity
ASC is seeking a commercially astute Finance Manager to join the Multi-Class Sustainment (MCS) Finance team, supporting key defence programs including Collins Class Submarines, Life of Type Extension (LOTE), and SSN Sustainment.
Reporting to the Head of Finance – MCS, this role blends strategic leadership with hands-on project accounting, contract modelling, and supplier engagement. You will play a critical role in developing bids and pricing to the Commonwealth and supporting the MCS Supply Chain, ensuring strong financial governance and mitigating commercial risk across supplier and Commonwealth contracts.
Working in a complex, fast-paced environment, you will collaborate closely with procurement, program teams, and external stakeholders to drive performance and deliver strong commercial outcomes.
This is a full-time opportunity based at our Osborne site in SA.
Responsibilities
- Ensure robust financial modelling and risk mitigation for bids and proposals
- Provide analytical insights into program cost performance, including scenario modelling and forecasting
- Partner with Supply Chain leadership across all MCS programs to drive financial performance
- Support customer and supplier contract negotiations, including financial terms, cost structures, and performance measures
- Monitor and report on supplier cost performance
- Contribute to contract reviews, audits, and governance processes
- Ensure EVMS reflects current supplier cost estimates and procurement activities
- Ensure compliance with Defence Cost and Profit Principles across suppliers and ASC
- Provide expert financial guidance and education to Supply Chain stakeholders
- Build strong relationships with internal teams, suppliers, and Commonwealth representatives
About you
- Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Accounting, or a related discipline
- Fully qualified accountant (CPA, CA, CIMA or equivalent) with substantial post-qualification experience
- Demonstrated experience in project financial management within complex environments
- Strong commercial acumen with exposure to contract modelling and supplier negotiations
- Advanced analytical capabilities with experience in financial modelling and performance analysis
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
- Demonstrate experience providing financial management support to bids and proposal activities
- Proactive and solutions-focused, with the ability to operate autonomously
- Highly organised, with strong time management and ability to perform under pressure
- Capable of building trusted relationships across diverse stakeholder groups
- Experience within the defence industry will be well regarded
Eligibility
This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to a NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
