Lead Agile Engineer – Integrations
Are you interested in working at the intersection of technology and sustainability? Bueno is a small Australian SaaS scale-up currently disrupting property sustainability both in Australia and internationally. Buildings and their construction generate over 30% of global carbon emissions and we've built an innovative data and analytics platform which enables our customers to monitor and improve the sustainability of their buildings.
We've recently entered an exciting new chapter by joining Copeland. This partnership provides us with the global reach and backing to significantly accelerate our mission. We have set an ambitious goal to 5x our scale and environmental impact over the next 36 months, and we are looking for a Lead Engineer to help us engineer that growth.

Here are some of the things you will be doing:
- Drive the technical vision as an individual contributor, building out the connectivity between the buildings we connect to at Bueno and our cloud platform.
- Design and build amazing agentic AI features to help us scale our integration capabilities.
- Tackle complex scaling challenges around performance, reliability and our continued expansion into new regions and markets.
- Provide high-level technical guidance and mentoring / pairing to smart, capable software engineers to deliver our product roadmap.
Collaborate closely with our data integration & analytics teams to deliver cross-team projects.

We'd love to hear from you if you have experience with:
- Leading the technical delivery of product roadmap items.
- Architecting APIs & event driven systems.
- Building and operating performant, stable and secure cloud-based applications.
- Building and maintaining quality codebases in at least one modern programming language (e.g. Kotlin, Java, Python, C#, Go, Rust), with an interest in learning new languages.
- Developing or integrating agentic AI capabilities and working with modern LLMs.
- Identifying, advocating for and rolling out improvements for delivery practices.
Articulating complex technical topics to non-technical audiences.

Bonus points if you have experience with any of the following:
- Built and operated Spring Boot based applications.
- Worked with time series databases or IoT platforms.
- Debugged complex Postgres, Hibernate or JPA problems.
- Automated cloud platform configuration using infrastructure as code.
- Worked with Kubernetes clusters.
