Primary objective
To provide confidential secretariat and administrative support to the Crime Division, Northern Territory Police.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide confidential secretariat support to the Superintendent, Crime Division including creating meetings, appointments,
conferences and the creation of agenda and minutes.
2. Provide administrational support to the members of Crime Division including the drafting and processing of
correspondence, receiving and relaying telephone messages and other administrational duties as required.
3. Establish and maintain appropriate administrative and record keeping systems including rosters and registers.
4. Prepare transcripts of interviews from recordings to a high standard with a high level of accuracy
5. Manage routine enquires and escalate as appropriate, ensuring confidentiality.
6. Arrange travel and itineraries upon request in support of police investigations.
7. Manage and continuously improve administrative processes, including data collection, record management, procurement,
procedures and ensuring documentation is up to date.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated personal, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills with an ability to interact effectively with
people from diverse cultures, including external stakeholders and providers.
2. Demonstrated ability in providing a high level of administrative assistance including data collection for reporting and
complex document preparation.
3. Sound knowledge of computer-based project administration and financial management and reporting systems as well as
Microsoft Word, Excel and Office related software.
4. Good written skills with the ability to prepare accurate and comprehensive minutes, records and transcripts services.
5. Well-developed organisational and time management skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision within tight
timeframes, including where required, the ability to work extended hours.
Desirable
1. Experience with HP Records Manager (HPRM), Police Real-time Online Management Information System (PROMIS) or
other similar Government systems or the ability to quickly acquire.
2. Current full NT Drivers Licence

2. This position may involve being exposed to sensitive, graphic and traumatic material. A high level of personal maturity is
required. To support this, the successful applicant will participate in annual “well checks” with police psychologists.
