As a team member you will be contributing to the sustainable supply of rare earths metals which are used in oil & gas, electric vehicles, and wind turbines.
Lynas Rare Earths is seeking a motivated Water Services Technician to join our Mt Weld Operations team. This is a FIFO position from Perth to our Mt Weld Operations on an 8/6 roster.
Reporting to the Production Coordinator, you will play a key role in the operation, maintenance, and optimisation of our water treatment facilities. This position is responsible for ensuring the efficient performance of water treatment processes that support safe and sustainable site operations.

As a highly valued member of the Lynas Rare Earths team, you will:
- Operate and monitor water treatment systems, including:
- Ultrafiltration (UF)
- Reverse Osmosis (RO)
- Clarifiers
- Chemical treatment processes
- Ensure water treatment plants operate safely, efficiently, and reliably.
- Monitor plant performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Work closely with Production, Maintenance, and Metallurgy teams to optimise plant performance.
- Support the commissioning, operation, and maintenance of new water treatment facilities.
- Maintain process records and operating data.
- Assist with troubleshooting, fault finding, and preventative maintenance activities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that deliver positive operational outcomes.
- Maintain compliance with site safety, environmental, and operational standards.
What you will bring to the team:
Essential
- Valid WA C Class Driver’s Licence.
- Demonstrated experience as a Service Technician, Water Technician, Water Treatment Operator, or similar role within the water treatment industry.
- Experience operating and maintaining Ultrafiltration and/or Reverse Osmosis plants.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote FIFO environment.
Desirable
- NWP30222 Certificate III in Water Industry Operations.
- Electrical or Mechanical Trade Qualification.
- Knowledge of water treatment chemicals and dosing systems.
- Experience with commissioning and optimisation of water treatment plants.
