About the Role
As a Senior Dewatering Engineer, you’ll drive growth and manage key client relationships across the Hunter Valley, with a strong focus primarily on Dewatering, Water Treatment, Municipals and Mining sectors delivering strong commercial outcomes and high-quality project execution.
You’ll lead strategic initiatives to secure new business, increase equipment utilisation, and grow revenue in this mining-intensive region, while working closely with Head Office to ensure operational excellence and support broader business expansion.
This role requires an experienced candidate with strong industry knowledge, particularly within the Hunter Valley market. A strong background or demonstrated expertise in dewatering and water treatment will be highly regarded.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Market Development & Growth
- Lead the growth of Pinnacle Hire in the dewatering and pump market across the Hunter Valley region, focusing on Civil Contractors, Municipalities, Water Authorities and Mining clients.
- Work with the Management team to design and implement state-based strategies that support business growth and increased market share.
- Actively identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities, including tender submissions.
Project Support & Execution
- Support dewatering project delivery by managing or assisting with on-site set-up and execution where required.
- Provide hands-on involvement to ensure projects meet client needs and are operationally sound.
- Work closely with service teams to maintain a high standard of project delivery.
Client Account Management
- Negotiate new and renewed trading agreements and business terms with major clients.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to support long-term commercial success.
Strategic Planning & Communication
- Maintain strong coordination with Pinnacle Hire sales, service, and product teams to align on goals.
- Assist in preparing budgets and sales forecasts across products, regions, and channels.
- Monitor competitors and market conditions and develop response strategies to maximise opportunities.
Financial Management & Reporting
- Provide the Management team with regular sales reports and performance analysis.
- Keep an accurate, up-to-date client database in line with CRM systems and procedures.
- Monitor and manage both revenue and expenditure within assigned budgets to ensure financial efficiency.
Work Health & Safety (WHS)
- Ensure compliance with WHS policies and create a safe work environment for yourself and others.
- Use appropriate PPE, report hazards and unsafe conditions, and always avoid risky behaviour.
- Follow all WHS procedures and contribute to a safety-first culture.
Additional Responsibilities
- Carry out any other related duties or projects as assigned by the Management team in support of operational or strategic business needs.

Experience & Knowledge
- Requirement for an experienced candidate with strong industry knowledge.
- Candidates with a bias towards dewatering & water treatment will be looked upon favourably.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks in a structured and efficient manner, with demonstrated experience in planning and leading change initiatives.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills, with the capability to engage effectively with stakeholders across all levels.
- Commercially astute with a solid understanding of customer service excellence and a strong focus on client satisfaction.
