Associate Nurse Unit Manager

Part Time Fixed Term (parental leave)

About the Role

Join the 2SE Cardiology Day Ward at The Royal Melbourne Hospital. 2SE provides specialist cardiology and cardio-thoracic services including pre-admission assessment, day procedures and peri-procedural care for patients undergoing a wide range of complex cardiac interventions. Working closely with the Nurse Unit Manager, you will support clinical leadership, patient flow, staff development and the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care.

Key Accountabilities

Support the Nurse Unit Manager in leading day-to-day clinical operations and service delivery.
Promote excellence in clinical practice, professional development and staff education.
Manage clinical risk and contribute to quality improvement initiatives that enhance patient outcomes.
Facilitate efficient patient access, flow and discharge planning across the continuum of care.
Provide clinical leadership, preceptorship and mentorship to nursing staff.

About You

Essential

Minimum three years' recent clinical experience in a cardiology setting.
Demonstrated leadership capability with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organisational, prioritisation and workflow management skills.
Commitment to patient-centred care and continuous improvement.

Desirable

Postgraduate qualification in Cardiac Care.
Previous experience in a leadership or ANUM role.
