With significant growth ahead, BTS Australia is seeking an experienced Senior Consultant to join our team in Sydney or Melbourne.
What you will do at BTS
At BTS, we work at the intersection of business strategy and human behaviour. Our clients are some of the largest organisations in Australia, spanning banking, mining, professional services, and technology. We help them close the gap between where their leaders say they want to go and what actually happens in the business.
We do this by getting to know each client well: understanding their strategy, their people, and the specific challenges they are navigating, so that every journey we design is relevant to them. At Senior Consultant level, you will lead that process. You will take ownership of projects, build direct client relationships, contribute to solution design, and deliver in senior stakeholder environments. You will also play an active role in identifying opportunities and supporting the growth of client accounts.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for a senior practitioner who brings experience across design, development, and delivery, and who is ready to take on greater ownership of client work and project leadership. The following describes the people who succeed at this level.
- An experienced facilitator. You have a track record of delivering in senior stakeholder environments. You are confident in the room, adapt well to different groups, and create learning through experience rather than instruction.
- A solution designer. You bring rigour and curiosity to the design process. You invest in understanding what a client is actually trying to change, and you use that knowledge to shape solutions that are relevant to their specific context.
- A project leader. You take accountability for engagements from brief to completion. You manage timelines, coordinate teams, maintain client relationships through the complexity of delivery, and take responsibility for outcomes.
- Commercially aware. You understand that consulting and business development are connected activities. You contribute to proposals, identify opportunities within accounts, and build the kind of client relationships that generate trust and continued partnership.
- A developer of others. You support the growth of less experienced colleagues through direct feedback, knowledge sharing, and active mentoring.
- A collaborative team player. You work well across teams and practices, contribute constructively to peer review, and bring a professional and considered approach to your work and your relationships.
Specifics of this role
We are looking for candidates with five to eight years of experience, with at least two in a consulting, professional services, or people-focused corporate environment. The following are important:
- Demonstrated experience leading projects end to end, with accountability for client outcomes.
- Strong facilitation capability in senior stakeholder environments.
- Experience designing or co-creating solutions tailored to specific client needs.
- Evidence of commercial awareness and an appetite for business development.
- Experience supporting or mentoring less experienced colleagues.
We know no one ticks every box. If you are excited about this kind of work and believe you can add value, we encourage you to apply.
What We Offer
- The work itself. No two clients are the same, and the best work we do reflects that. You will get to know your clients well, understand their strategies and cultures, and shape experiences that are genuinely relevant to their context. The depth of client knowledge you build here is one of the things people value most about working at BTS.
- Career development that is real. Every team member has an Individual Development Plan, quarterly goals, and access to a dedicated 1:1 coach. You will continue to build capability across facilitation, concept design, account management, and people leadership, through formal programmes and through real client work.
- A connected global network. We have 34 offices worldwide. Senior Consultants travel to Europe and across APAC, and our Australia team partners globally on live client work. The network is real and it is used.
- A team that notices and celebrates. 96% of our people say their manager cares about them. 89% are proud to work for BTS. We have an end-of-year awards night, monthly cake days, a winter dinner, a coffee account, and wellness days throughout the year, including R U OK? Day as a team day off.
- Flexible working. Up to two days working from home per week on average, with flexibility to manage your health and life.
