- We are seeking an energetic Community Engagement Officer
- Full-time 12-month fixed term position within our Community Development Office

About the Role
The Community Engagement Officer bridges Marketing and Communications and Enrolments at the operational level, contributing to the prospective family experience from first enquiry to enrolment, the day-to-day production of Community Development Office (CDO) communications, and the integrated programme of community engagement work the office delivers across all CDO functions.
Reporting to the Head of Marketing and Communications, with a working relationship to the Head of Enrolments, the Community Engagement Officer contributes to the warmth, professionalism and quality of every interaction prospective families may have with the School. The role also takes ownership of the CDO shared mailbox and supports the project management trackers and platforms through which the CDO coordinates its cross-team work.
About You
You are dedicated, passionate and possess the following:
- A tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, public relations, business, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience in a customer facing, enrolments or community-engagement role
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to draft and proofread to a professional publication standard for prospective family, alumni and community audiences
- Demonstrated experience supporting projects or organisational initiatives, including planning, tracking and supporting delivery to deadline
- Proven ability to use initiative and work independently, intuitively and with flexibility, while taking direction effectively when required
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and maintain attention to detail across a diverse, multi-function portfolio
- High proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams), with a demonstrated aptitude for learning new systems quickly (including the Enrolments CRM, Synergetic and other CGS systems)
- Genuine interpersonal warmth and the customer-service instinct required to deliver an excellent prospective family experience
- A clear understanding of the importance of confidentiality and discretion, with the ability to handle sensitive matters involving students, families, donors and colleagues with professionalism and integrity
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to operate effectively within a diverse, multi-function team.
Desirable
- Experience in an education, not-for-profit or community-facing organisation, with an understanding of the values and stakeholder relationships that distinguish these environments
- Familiarity with marketing and communications tools (e.g. content management systems, EDM platforms, social media, basic graphic design tools such as Canva, Adobe design suite) and/or experience supporting communications production
- Familiarity with CRM platforms, events management software, project management trackers, or experience supporting governance/board paper processes.

- Appropriate qualifications
- A valid ACT Working with Vulnerable People Card
- A current National Police Check; and
- Full working rights within Australia.
