Shape how Sydney moves—lead the strategy, development, safety and performance across the city’s arterial and active transport networks.
In this role, you’ll:
Provide senior strategic and operational leadership for teams responsible for managing and developing Sydney’s arterial and active transport networks, delivering safe, reliable and efficient movement of people and goods across the metropolitan area.
You will set clear direction on network performance, road safety, multi‑modal integration and early‑stage project development, ensuring alignment with the Metropolitan Strategy, Precinct Plans and the Movement and Place framework.
Taking a whole-of-network view, you will represent Transport in planning, policy and governance forums, partnering across government, industry and communities to translate long‑term planning intent into coordinated, value‑for‑money outcomes for customers and communities.

About you:
You are a senior transport or infrastructure leader with a strong record of leading complex, multi‑modal networks and programs in a highly regulated, stakeholder‑rich environment.
You combine technical credibility with people leadership and sound commercial judgement and are comfortable influencing at executive and ministerial levels.
You bring a systems mindset, balancing day‑to‑day network performance with long‑term city‑shaping objectives, and are driven by public value, safety and sustainability.
Key capabilities include:
- Strategic leadership of high‑performing, multidisciplinary teams
- Expertise across road safety, traffic management, active transport and solution development
- Proven experience developing business cases and complex project documentation
- Demonstrated ability to influence and negotiate with senior and executive stakeholders to resolve complex issues and drive aligned outcomes.Strong stakeholder, community and cross‑government engagement skills
- Tertiary qualifications or equivalent professional experience (transport engineering and/or commercial background advantageous)
